Crailville craftsmanship is
a gift from the past that they bring to the present.
They maintain strong links between traditional handcraftwork and modern production
techniques,
ensuring that creative expertise continues to produce coachwork of exquisite beauty and
form.
|
This picture illustrates
what must be the pinnacle of their capabilities.
It shows all of their skills displayed in flamboyant style:
Complex wooden framework; superbly handcrafted body panels
with handmade folding windscreen; disappearing hood and Art Deco chrome applique.
|
The Edwardian period
David's favorite period,
illustrating that most important transition from the horse to the horseless transport.
|
If you have a decent side-on
picture, David suggests to strike two vertical lines through the wheel hubs,
then divide the picture into a grid of equal squares using these two lines vertically as a
start, then horizontally.
Do exactly the same onto the full sized drawing, with the same corresponding amount of
squares
using the same two vertical lines through the wheel hubs on the full-sized drawing
as your datum. You should now have two grids, one on the picture of the body
you want to build and one full size overlaid onto your chassis details.
